A Bride And Groom Did Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" Dance At Their Wedding Reception

Reblogged from 100.3 KILT:

A wedding dance video from July is popping up.  It’s the groom doing the dance from Michael Jackson‘s “Smooth Criminal” video, and he’s pretty good.  Then the bride joins in near the end, and she’s not bad either.  Unfortunately, they don’t attempt the famous “leaning forward” move, which required special effects or all of them falling down.

So many memories!

Today I was working on a web site that Shauna and I are creating to help us sell our home. I wanted to add some photos showing us doing life in the house. I added a really cool acoustic version of “Here comes the sun” by the Beatles, which was actually one of my favorite records I used to listen to all the time when I was a young boy. I would play that song over and over. It still is one of my favorite songs. I started looking for some photos to put on the gallery and I had a oh my God moment, I had realized how busy I have been working on this house and how many times the last few weeks I have repeated a hundred times to my kids, ” Not Now, im busy”. Looking through the photos I realized this was our first house. The house that we brought our little six month Abigail to start her new life. This is where our kids learned to say Da Da for the first time, their first steps. Abigail our six year old just lost her first tooth here. All the parties, and holidays. I have been too busy to realize how blessed I am. Thank You Lord! I hope I never get too busy to stop and look around and enjoy life. It seems like yesterday that we moved in. It will be sad to leave this place with all its memories, but I know God has some amazing things planned for us.

Only One way!!

Shauna and I have been working very hard to work on our home so that we can sell our current home and move in to a new home. We had all but given up on looking for a home due to the economy and the current housing market. We had stayed home from church one Sunday, the kids were not feeling well and we needed some much needed rest. I suddenly felt compelled to look for home in a certain area of Louisville. Shauna and I both felt that the Lord had told us that this was the part of the town we were supposed to live in so I randomly looked on a real estate site to see what they had available. I looked through several homes none of them jumped out at me. I finally came across this home and I felt like I was looking at the home we were supposed to live in. I could see us living there. There was something about this home, I couldn’t put my finger on it but I had to see this home. We threw the kids in the car with their pajamas on and drove out to see the home. When we drove onto Main Street I got really excited, there were ice cream shops and coffee shops. I felt like I was stepping into a Kincaid painting. Just two blocks from Main Street was our house. I literally jumped out of the car and stood in front of the house. I almost wanted to kiss the ground like I have been on this long journey and finally came home. I walked around the house and looked through the windows. The house was full of light lots of beautiful window light. As we walked around the back the back there was a deck that extended the whole length of the house and overlooked this huge backyard that butted up to the woods. I walked up to this little garden in the back and looked down and there was a stone that said “Surely the Lord is in this Place” etched into the stone. Shauna and I have always tried to walk by faith and not sight. We have not even placed an offer on the home yet, but we feel this is our home. It could not be more perfect for our family. The kid’s school is directly across the road. We could literally open the front door and watch our kids walk to school in the morning. There is a huge playground about 100 yards from our front door; we are two blocks from the historic downtown main street. There is enough room for us to have a studio in one of the rooms. This was my dream; this is what we have wanted for so long. Despite the economy and the housing market. We believe God is who he says he is, and nothing is impossible with Him. We hope that by us stepping out in faith and getting this home that we can be a encouragement to other people who dare to dream big. All too often we play it way to safe in our life. We put so many limitations on our life and what we can and can’t do. There is only one way we are getting his house, and that is by God alone. We can’t wait to see what God will do in our life.

The Big Decisions

I am often amazed at how many decisions I am faced with in any given day.  Do I choose to eat this for lunch, do I want to wear this, how do I accomplish this task with excellence.  If we counted all of the decision we actually make in a day I think we would be shocked.  Of course not all of the decision are truly life changing important, but it reminds me how one decision can literally snow ball into a others very quickly.  Why am I talking about this today?  Well, I guess it has made me think about the decisions we make on a daily basis to follow our dreams or to allow them to quietly pass by without ceremony.  I have decided that I want to make decision that fuel my passions for life and allow me to follow my dreams.  I come in contact daily with people who wish they were doing something different or wish they could.  I think we should start living for our dreams again as we did when we were kids.  I was inspired by a fellow photographer @Jasmine-Star, who wrote a book chronicling her triumphs and failing in becoming the person she wanted to be.  It was inspiring to be given permission to follow your dreams and make mistakes along the way.  I challenge you today to do the same.  Take the leap and follow the path less travelled by most and Follow your dreams!

Senior Drape Shots

Ill be honest with you Senior drape shots in my opinion our extremely outdated and boring, but we do them for our clients because the schools require them to have them for the yearbook. I have recently done some senior photos for Hannah and she has been so much fun to work with. We did a senior shoot in the rain at the Papa John’s Headquarters. The photos came out amzing and Hannah really got photos done that were personal to her. She loves the rain. I got a call from her recently because she had gotten drape photos done by a large company at her school and they turned out horrible. The colors were wrong, the exposure was wrong. I was more than happy to help her to get a photo for her yearbook. It feels good to know that she will have the nicest photo in her yearbook.
